Why professional writing & communication?

For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for professional writing and communication. Each day is new and exciting and leads to endless opportunities. One day you could be writing a grant, another day conducting research, running a social media account, or teaching and more. Professional writing and communication is the foundation to so many career options. I always get excited when I can produce work that can help people for the greater good, which is exactly why this field is so rewarding.

What excites you most about this program?

What has excited me most about being in the program is made up of several factors. Being able to learn from cultured faculty and staff and work with my peers and colleagues has provided me with an education that is rich in diversity and curriculum. Likewise, the opportunities such as the teaching fellowship program and thesis project have left such a huge footprint in shaping my future. The MPWC program opens-up their doors to students and carves a path towards achieving our dreams.

How have the classes you’ve taken reinforced or changed your professional identity?

The MPW program has reinforced my professional identity as it never feels like work. When you find something you are so passionate about, you get excited and find yourself setting lofty goals to get to the next level. The program has prepared us for our future careers and has provided us with an education that is top ranked.
