Jeremiah Dyehouse

Jeremiah Dyehouse is an Associate Professor and Chair of URI’s Department of Writing and Rhetoric. His time is split between research, teaching, and administration. One of his current projects is working on a book for an academic press titled “Materials Become Media: John Dewey and Public Writing, 1886 – 1927”. He was also recently elected President of URI’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa collegiate honor society.

Jeremiah started teaching professional writing as an undergraduate tutor, where he especially enjoyed working with scientists and engineers. As a student, he learned to listen to the needs and explanations of others. In addition to his teaching and research, his experience has also given him the tools to provide consulting services that help professional writers improve.
