Why professional writing & communication? 

Effective communication is key to almost every aspect in life. All too often, ineffective communication leads to immense but avoidable problems. If I can do something using my skills as a writer to help lessen instances where poor writing has created issues, then I feel as though I would be doing something worthwhile.

What excites you most about this program? 

Working to find my niche in the field of Professional Writing and Communication, and obtaining skills that will help me further refine my craft as a writer.

How have the classes you’ve taken reinforced or changed your professional identity? 

They have given me even more of a sense of just how important effective writing and communication are to just about every field. At first I wasn’t sure exactly how to define the field, or how I would fit into it, but the program is giving me a much better grasp on what my future plans will be after graduation. Having the opportunity to work as a teaching fellow while I pursue my studies has made feel even more grounded within the field.
